Results from the Champions League: Manchester City and Copenhagen Draw, Red Card, and VAR for Specter, Blunt without Erling Haaland
In the 2022–2023 Champions League, Manchester City drew with Copenhagen without the addition of Erling Haaland.
On the fourth day of play in Group G of the 2022-2023-Champions League, Copenhagen will host Manchester City.
Copenhagen, who was playing at Parken Stadium on Tuesday (11/10/2022) night WIB, was able to stifle Manchester City's game, which only had 10 spectators.
According to BolaSport.com, which is a part of the official UEFA website, Man City had a 57 percent possession of the ball versus Copenhagen's 43 percent.
Man City generated a total of 15 opportunities, four of which were successful, compared to Copenhagen's six opportunities, only one of which was successful.
The match's progress
Despite being the visiting club, Man City was able to appear aggressive in the first half.
A right-footed kick from outside the penalty area by Rodri gave Man City the lead in the eleventh minute.
Referee Artur Soares Dias, however, denied this goal after viewing a replay on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
As two-Copenhagen defenders and Riyad Mahrez fought for the ball during Rodri's goal, Riyad Mahrez appeared to touch the ball first.
Nicolai Boilesen's handball in the 25th minute earned Man City a penalty, making up for the previous time VAR had hurt them.
However, Riyad Mahrez struggled to execute when Kamil Grabara stopped his left-footed effort that was intended for the right side of the goal.
When Sergio Gomez was dismissed in the 30th minute, Man City instantly felt horrible again after two goals went achieved.
Gomez's foul on Haraldsson prevented a goal opportunity from occurring in front of the box.
Again, the VAR was used in Man City's misadventures, as referee Artur Soares Dias watched footage before choosing to send off Gomez.
Man City changed its lineup by bringing in Ruben Dias instead of Mahrez after losing one player
Man City's 10-man lineup appears to make it difficult for them to breach Copenhagen's tight defense.
Up until halftime, the score was 0-0.
