Robert Lewandowski Leaks: Barcelona and Inter Milan Only Manages a Draw

When held by Inter Milan in the Champions League, Robert Lewandowski concedes that Barcelona "failed to defend," and that they are now in risk of being demoted to the Europa League.

At Camp Nou, Barcelona fails to earn all three points.

• They have no control over whether they qualify for the UCL round of 16

• Could include the Europa League (again)

WHAT IS THE CASE?

After being held to a stalemate at home by Inter Milan on Thursday morning (13/10), Barca appeared to be in danger of not being able to go to the Champions League knockout stages. Ousmane Dembele gave Xavi's team the lead, but they fell down again before Robert Lewandowski's injury-time equalizer kept Europe's hopes alive.

WHO SPEAKS LEWANDOWSKI?

The prolific Polish striker addressed the media after mistakes in that important game led to three goals against Marc-Andre ter Stegen: "We neglected to defend because we were so focused on scoring. More players were added to the attack in an attempt by one of us to We had lost control. We scored three goals but also allowed three goals. We lacked composure, cold blood, and were disappointed that we did not win."

THE CONDITION:

In order to extend their breath in the 2022–23 Champions League, Barca now needs a result from a different party. Lewy and company are in danger of being sent into the Europa League since they are now in third position in Group C, behind Bayern Munich and Inter. Regarding the difficulties the Blaugrana are facing, Lewandowski continued, "Recently there are a lot of injuries, it's not simple to always alter the line-up, therefore there is a lack of stability."

ARE YOU AWARE?

Lewandowski has scored 14 goals this season in all competitions. In the top five European leagues, only Erling Haaland (20) is able to score more often than he can.

UP NEXT: BARCELONA

Stuck in the UCL Barcelona was met with a challenging La Liga encounter right away, the El Clasico party against archrival Real Madrid on Sunday (16/10).
