Deplorable, says Minister, for Stakeholders to Absolve Themselves of Kanjuruhan Disaster
Mahfud MD, who serves as the chairperson of the Kanjuruhan football catastrophe fact-finding committee, bemoaned the fact that the parties evaded taking blame for the human tragedy and hid behind each other's rules.
Yes, it is how we now feel. Some people choose to shirk their obligations. The LIB, the event organizers, and other factors are blamed by the PSSI. The broadcaster is also the same; they blame one another while hiding behind their own rules, stated Mahfud on October 12 at the State Palace complex.
Mahfud identified the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), PT Liga Indonesia Baru (PT LIB), the organizing committee for the Arema FC match, and the owners of the television broadcasting rights as the stakeholders.
He is the leader of the Joint Independent Fact-Finding Team (TGIPF), which will continue to look for significant facts to prevent further parties from assigning blame to one another. The substantive justice and truth that TGIPF will investigate are aspects that will be submitted to the President, according to Mahfud. Each of them is bound by their legally binding laws and contracts.
Jokowi will consult FIFA based on the advice from the fact-finding team.
The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, also stated that the TGIPF study into the Kanjuruhan disaster's recommendations are presently almost finished. He said that they are still just in the recommendation-refining and structure stages. On Monday, October 18, President Jokowi will utilize this suggestion to examine Indonesian football with FIFA.
Mahfud stated, "Now that TGIPF has acquired all the information, all that is left to do is to refine the suggestions.
