A police chief rule (perhaps) is created by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) as the foundation for the security of football-league games in Indonesia.
The Kanjuruhan disaster, which occurred in Malang, East Java, some time ago, was evaluated in the creation of this rule, Police Official Inspector General Setyo Boedi Moempoeni Harso said during a coordination meeting on Wednesday.
"Since this event took place, the police have been given orders by the police chief (General Listyo Sigit Prabowo) to develop (legal) products that serve as the foundation for regulations that provide for security," he said.
The deployment of this legal product will adhere to FIFA's and the Indonesian Football Association's rules (PSSI).
According to Harso, at the meeting, the police and connected parties—including organizers, fans, and other relevant stakeholders—agreed to conduct a thorough investigation into the disaster at Kanjuruhan Stadium.
He also thanked the football fans who came to the gathering and contributed their ideas throughout the event.
These suggestions are used as a guide for creating the rules that will be followed by the police, event planners, and areas with stadiums for football matches.
This product will serve as the foundation for the police's efforts to safeguard the PSSI event using the feedback supplied, he said.
The event happened following Saturday's match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya at Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang, East Java, with a final score of 2-3.
Due to Arema FC's loss, several of its fans flocked to the field, which led to this event.
The Kanjuruhan incident left 132 people dead, 506 people with minor injuries, and 23 people with severe injuries, according to the most recent data.
